Who was Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity?

Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity, born Élisabeth Catez in 1880 in France, was a Carmelite nun known for her profound spirituality and mystical writings. Elizabeth entered the Carmelite convent in Dijon at the age of 21, where she developed a deep understanding of the doctrine of the indwelling of the Trinity, which became the cornerstone of her spiritual teaching. Her spirituality was characterized by a deep union with God in her inner soul, which she articulated through her many letters and writings, most notably in her retreat notes, "Heaven in Faith."

Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity is not widely known as a patron saint of any specific cause but is often invoked by those seeking peace in their souls and a deeper understanding of God's presence within. She was canonized in 2016 by Pope Francis.
